The basis of structural wallpaper often representstwo textured layers of white paper. In the market of finishing materials there are three-layered wallpaper. The third layer of paper gives the web more rigidity and allows the material to interact better with the glue. When using such wallpaper, no additional wall preparation is required, since a thick cloth can hide various defects and small cracks. After repeated painting three-layer wallpaper is easily removed from the old base, while on the walls there is a thin layer of paper, on which you can paste new wallpaper.
Structural wallpaper is produced on non-woven andpaper basis. Wallpaper for painting, in which the paper base, more dense than their just paper "brothers", and impregnated with a special water-resistant composition. They are made by special technology from heavy fibrous waste paper and are produced with differently structured unpainted surfaces. This type of wallpaper has the ability to skip steam, they can be painted many times (an average of 5 to 15 times). And not only to paint one-color, but also to transfer to walls various "special effects".
However, today there is a great demand forstructural wallpaper on a non-woven basis. Such material is more dense and durable, does not swell under the action of moisture, does not stretch and does not change the shape of the sheet when it dries. This kind of wallpaper is recommended for use in homes that still shrink.
At the moment, there are also glass walls for painting. But their installation requires a special approach, and in our homes they are used infrequently.
All the structural wallpaper, which will later be painted, also have one more important property: they can quickly change the style of decorating the room without requiring the dismantling of the material.
The technology of their gluing depends on the type of substrate. For example, wallpaper with a paper base glued using the usual technology: glue smears the surface of walls and wallpaper, apply wallpaper and, pressing, smooth. The next painting goes to the previous butt. At the same time, like all paper wallpapers, there may be problems: they tear, bubble, they appear wrinkles. Therefore, it is necessary to glue such structural wallpaper with caution.
Wallpaper on non-woven base is stronger,so there are no such problems with their installation. The glue is applied only to the wall and works only with dry cloths. The pieces can be pasted butt tightly, they do not deform along the gluing line.
Only after complete drying the wallpaper is painted. The paint is applied in several layers, depending on the density of the web and the type of paint used. In order for the layer to lie exactly along the entire surface to be painted, the paint is produced in several approaches. It must be remembered that the paint rolls over the wallpaper, and not smeared. If the roller is too strong, strips may appear. You should know that the next coat of paint should be applied only after the previous one has dried completely. The paint for painting the wallpaper is better to take water-dispersion, glossy or matte - at the discretion.
