How many regions in Ukraine?

Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe with a total area of ​​603,628 sq. M. Since 1991, this is an independent unitary state with a single territorial structure - administrative and territorial. The system of administrative and territorial structure of Ukraine consists of: 1 autonomous republic - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea; 24 regions, 490 districts, 459 cities (including 2 cities of national importance with a special status - Kiev, the capital and largest city of Ukraine; and Sevastopol, the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea), 118 districts in cities, 885 urban-type settlements, 10278 village councils, 28457 villages

The names of the Volyn and Transcarpathian regions do not coincide with the names of the cities - regional centers. All other areas are named for the city - the regional center.
